Speaker bio

Athlete. Entrepreneur. Engineer. Poet.

Aayan Spencer is a poet, entrepreneur and software engineer: a self-proclaimed polymath. Recruited to play Division I soccer at Alabama A&M University, he made the Dean’s List and earned his degree in Telecommunications and Computer Science. In Brooklyn, he founded Nubian Nails, the first Black-owned nail salon with an Asian nail technician team, built in partnership with Chung, an Asian businessman and Brooklyn restaurant owner. A second store brought together a multicultural team of Black, white, Hispanic and Indian professionals, and together the two stores grew to about 30 workers. He also founded Pamper Me Quick, a mobile spa salon on wheels, and AI Network Agency, which builds AI tools for small businesses. A computer repair technician turned software engineer, he serves U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs facilities as a federal contractor. Through spoken word and his book Vision Is Clear, he helps young people hold on to their humanity in the age of AI.
